Best Dining in Aspen Valley Is Juicy Lucy’s Steak and Seafood Restaurant – Eat Out in Glenwood Springs
Glenwood Springs Eats
At the point we decided to change our priorities and exit the hectic city life we started looking for our next heaven on earth. Residing on the California coast was fun, but packed regardless of what entertainment we picked to do. We had heard about Colorado and the wide open spaces, especially on the Western Slope with villages like Aspen and Vail that are smaller communities, yet a real culture and population.
Landing the plane in into Grand Junction we started east on Interstate 70 to check out Western Colorado. It was late morning when we reached Glenwood Springs and felt this would be a great place to stay the weekend and then decide on Aspen or Vail in the morning. We decided to rest at the historic Hotel Colorado and after settling into our room we wanted to explore what Glenwood Springs had to offer. The front desk clerk recommended some quint shops to see, but when we inquired about fine dining she suggested it depends on the food you wish to eat. Being in Colorado I wanted a juicy steak, but my wife insisted on seafood like back home. I explained to her the nearest ocean was too many miles distant, so the seafood could never be ashigh quality as we could get back home, but she insisted. So her recommendation was a quaint dining establishment right across the foot bridge called Juicy Lucy’s Seafood and Steak House where we could have the best selection for both.
Once we had finished visiting several unique stores we found Juicy Lucy’s Steakhouse and after a brief wait at the historic bar we sat down. As I read the menu I noticed the best meal for me, Colorado Elk Sirloin. All natural grilled elk sirloin shaved and served on sautéed portabella mushrooms, but I wasintrigued by the {fish|seafood|fresh catch| selections on the choices. I was even more impressed by their daily offerings such as; Broiled Sea Scallops stuffed with Alaskan King Crab or Fresh fish Mequite Grilled over the BBQ. I had to inquire about the freshness and quality since it was certain the nearest ocean was many miles away. He implied they only include the finest ingredients and the seafood is flown in each morning six days a week. My wife ordered the Sea Scallops and I will tell you this if you didn’t know you were in {the rocky mountains|Colorado|dry regions of the country| you would insist you were at a seafood restaurant on the coast.
The next day we decided on Basalt, and explored all the small pueblos from Aspen to Glenwood Springs. Here we could ski in the winter, jeep in the summer, hike, bike and be by ourselves, or go to a play or concert almost any night. We found our heaven and knowing that no matter where we settled in the area we were only a short trip away from the freshest seafood in the middle of the Rocky Mountains. Who would have imagined that a fine dining establishment named Juicy Lucy’s Steakhouse would facilitate us make one of the best choices ever.
